Transforming CMV Partnerships

The Alabama Transportation Institute (ATI) and the Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) planned and hosted the third Southeast CMV Summit. The summit continued to bring together government, industry, and research personnel who have interests in CMV traffic safety, creating a forum to build strong and lasting partnerships among the participants and to plan future innovative joint efforts.

The previous theme of "Best Practices for Advancing Safety through Partnerships with Universities" continued to be a major objective of the Summit. Additionally this year, questions of an autonomous and electric future were discussed. Is this the next evolution of safety and commerce?

Experts presented on if and how electric and autonomous commercial vehicles will impact the following five areas: safety, commerce, equity, climate, and technology. Sessions on FMCSA national priority topics were also included.
